DIY Corner: Valentine’s Day Heart Balloon Garlands
Hello February! We’re SO ready to celebrate love all month long. If you’re looking for unique ideas to decorate for Valentine’s this year, look no further. We have two DIY garlands you can create for your special event on Valentine’s Day (or Galentine’s Day). These garlands are eye-catching, budget-friendly, and quick to make.
The first DIY is a heart balloon pennant garland. The 6” heart balloons used for this garland creates a cool 3D look – making the hearts look like they’re popping out. We used Valentine’s Day colors (red and white), but you can always switch things up and use non-traditional colors for this DIY as well. With just a few supplies, you’ll be on your way to having a romantic heart garland. Let’s get started!
Supplies Needed:
· Red Paper
· Scissors
· Tape
· Pen
· Hand balloon pump
· 6” Heart latex balloons
Recommended Heart latex balloons:
Step 1: Draw a triangle shape at the bottom of each paper and cut out.
Step 2: Poke two holes at the top of each paper. Take your ribbon and loop it through the holes, connecting the banner together. Afterwards, hang it on the wall. We’ll add the heart balloons next!
Step 3: Pump air into each heart latex balloon. Remember to cut off the tail end of the balloon to create a clean look. Tape the heart balloon on to each paper and now you’re done!
Up next, we have a DIY heart chain garland. We’re using 260Q balloons to create these darling heart shapes. You can make this garland as long or as short as you’d like! It’s easy to hang on the wall and/or ceiling.
Supplies Needed:
· 260Q Balloons
· Balloon Hand pump
· Tape and/or ribbon
Step 1: (a) Pump air into 260Q balloon and tie both ends together. (b) Fold balloon in the middle and gently squeeze a few times. This will start to look like a heart shape.
Step 2: (a) Take the black 260Q balloon and tie it around the red 260Q balloon – chaining them together. (b) Bend in the middle and gently squeeze, creating a heart shape. Continue adding on as many balloons as you like.
Step 3: Use tape and/or ribbon to hang the garland on the wall. You can also hang the garland and let the hearts dangle from the ceiling.
