Flowers for Balloon Professionals with Super K

Building on the basic twists you learned in your introduction to twisting class, Super K will teach you to use those same twists to create beautiful balloon flowers. Delight your family and friends with single blossoms.  Up sell your décor by adding flower surprises to your arches and centerpieces.  The goal is to learn 6-10 specific flowers if time permits.  Super K will also off variations which can be added as your twisting skills mature.  Please bring your scissors and a clean trash bag to help you transport your creations home after class.  And don’t forget your camera!

Masks! with David Brenion

These masks are LARGE and in CHARGE!  Award winning balloon artist David Brenion will inspire and delight you!  Once you learn the fundamental mask base taught in this class, you'll see that a few color and proportion variations will open the door to a limitless collection of characters.  You will be using primarily 350's and 646's to make up the bulk of the masks.  If you can twist a sidewall bubble in a 646, the rest is a piece of cake!   If  you do not know sidewall bubbles, don't worry, David can teach you!  You may want to bring several large, clean trash bags to help you transport your creations home after class.

The last class in the arch series is all about the Link-O-Loons and the amazing things we can create with them.  Helium filled or air filled on a frame, these special balloons offer some unique decorating possibilities.  We will begin with simple LOL arches and progress to some incredibly intricate LOL arches.

Balloon Hats with Steve Mings, CBA #162

Balloon Hats can be fun for any age.  They can be big, tall, fancy, plain or very exotic.  Whether you are making a hat for your child or many hats for a party, we have a way to get you started.  Steve will teach you how to size the hat, select a hat base, and build the hat creation that you can imagine.  Have you been practicing the skills you learned in your Introduction to Twisting class?  The Balloon Hats class is for people, young and old alike, with some balloon twisting experience (No basic skill will be addressed in this class).  Steve recommends that you bring paper, pen, pencil, pair of scissors, and a large new trash bag to make transporting your creations home a bit easier.  A still camera is OK for class, but no video recording, please.

Balloon Bracelets with Steve Mings, CBA #163

What person doesn’t like to wear eye catching Bling?  Balloon Bracelets are easy and fun to make.  Steve will help you create simple bases, then build some awesome bracelets that will get noticed.  You might simply add a Heart, or you could create a balloon Diamond.  This class is for people, young and old alike, with some balloon twisting experience. (No basic skill will be addressed in this class.)  Steve recommends that you bring paper, pen, pencil, a pair of scissors, and a large new trash bag to make transporting your creations home a bit easier. A couple of women in La Mesa, CA, started a company called “Fancy That!”   They imprint clear packing tape with a variety of designs (polka dots, flowers, plaid and zebra stripes) and colors.  Originally targeted for use on paper goods, Glenna was inspired to use Fancy Tape to decorate foil balloons.  Join her to see what can be done with a little tape to transform balloons into a new creation!  Please Bring Your Scissors to this Hands-On class.  If you forget them, you will be watching everyone else play with Fancy Tape.

Balloon Basic Training with Glenna Kipp, CBA #168

Glenna will introduce you to the variety of balloons available to decorators and twisters – latex, foil, plastic, and vinyl.  After filling the balloons with air or helium, you will practice sizing and tying.  What can you create with balloons?  Your imagination is the only limit!  In class you will discuss how to start a balloon business and where to go from here.  This is a Hands-On class!  You will learn simple arches, bouquets, and twisting.  Bring your scissors and camera.  It’s gonna be fun!

Non-Round Multiple-Balloon Creations with Steve Mings, CBA #169

You have taken an Introduction to Twisting class and you have been practicing your one balloon figures.  Now it is time to begin using more than one balloon in your designs.  It might be a two balloon Butterfly that will delight any guest.  It might be more detailed creations incorporated into your décor.  Add a character like Elmo to a balloon delivery.  The possibilities are endless.  When your customer says “Aaaah!” you will know you have succeeded.  Let Steve show you how!

Columns are a versatile element of balloon décor.  Worked in a traditional spiral pattern they are elegant and classy.  Try some shaped balloons and you can get a funky flavor.  Switch to foil balloons and you get a whole different look.  Most of the designs Glenna will teach are from the 2012 World Balloon Convention.  Come play with profitable, air filled Balloon Columns!

Balloon Weaving with Steve Mings, CBA #172

Imagine that you inflate 160Qs and create extremely even bubbles.  Then you twist them together horizontally and vertically to create a piece of balloon fabric.  That fabric can be made in the shape of a Top Hat, a lovely Bow with trailing ribbon ends or a unique haute couture Dress.  That is Balloon Weaving!  In this Advanced Twisting class Steve will introduce you Hands-On to the basics of Balloon Weaving.  You will explore ways to add Weaving to your décor to really excite your customers.
